  • What if I’ve never done yoga before?

That’s great!

We love having new people come along and experience the benefits of yoga.

Some of our more gentle classes may be a good place to start to introduce yourself to the studio and get a feel for it all, but all classes are open to beginners so feel free to dive in.

We always encourage you to listen to your body and practice at a pace that feels right for you.

  • What if I’m not very flexible, can I still participate?

Definitely!

Yoga is not about being flexible.

We all have different bodies, during class we learn to tune into our body and honor it at all times.

Little by little we can work on creating a little more flexibility, both in body and mind.

  • What if I can’t do one of the poses?

That’s absolutely fine. If something doesn’t feel right for you, you can pause for a moment or come into a modified version of the pose.

The teacher can help guide you if you have any injuries or restrictions.

This is your practice so it needs to feel right for you.

  • What do I wear?

Something that you can move in that doesn’t restrict you in any way.

Most people feel comfortable in leggings and a singlet or T-shirt.

Layers on cooler days are a good idea.

Shoes are not worn during classes.

  • Do I need to bring my own mat?

Yes, if you can bring your own mat that’s great.

We do have some available to borrow if you happen to forget yours.

  • What else should I bring?

It’s a good idea to bring your drink bottle, a towel and a blanket. If you have a strap or block they can also be great options to support your practice.

  • What age do I need to be to attend a class?

If you are between 16 and 116 you are welcome to attend our classes, although some classes may be more suitable for you than others.

If you are unsure about which classes would be most suitable then you can check out our class descriptions here.

Please contact us personally if you would like to discuss attendance for anyone under 16.

  • How early should I arrive before class?

The door will open 15 min before class.

Please allow yourself enough time to arrive and settle before class starts.

The door will be locked once class begins.

  • How many people are in a class?

Generally our classes range from 10-20 people.

  • Can we talk in the studio?

We love the connections that our beautiful community make each day in the studio.

We do ask that you keep your voice to a gentle whisper and respect those around you.

For some people it may be their only quiet time for the week.

  • How many times should I practice a week?

Yoga is amazing—even if you only practice one hour a week, you will experience so many benefits.

You will likely find that after a while your desire to practice expands naturally and you will find yourself doing more and more.

Ultimately, daily practice is most beneficial.
